Student Loan Debt Poster

I volunteered to design a poster for Alan Collinge and Student Loan Justice on the student loan debt crisis. After creating numerous sketches, I came up with the tagline “Go to college they said…take out loans they said" as a reference to different generations older to younger constantly being told college was the only way to “make it” in life and not end up as a low wage burger flipper making less money. Many have found out after graduating, that reality was not true, and in many fields after graduation the pay is less than the burger flipper which states the first told argument to attend college was a lie. I used a real statistic from 2021 where data showed there was nearly two trillion in student loans which were fast growing. At the end, I added the hashtag #cancelstudentloans to encourage others to use the hashtag and spread awareness about the debt crisis in America. I also added Student Loan Justice’s change.org petition link at the bottom of the poster to spread awareness on the campaign and increase user engagement with the petition. This was the first poster ever created for the group. It became the top 5 petitions on change.org for their 2023 Wrapped: Digital Activism Edition and still currently is as of 2025.
